This study analyzes articles related to Korean language and Hangul in the 1920s by using the database of Yonsei University's Institute for the Study of Korea Modernity. The purpose of the study is to understand the overall contents, characteristics, and changes over time of the language-related articles of the time by utilizing 'Meta DB of Modern Korean study' established through a full survey of articles in the Dong-A Ilbo and the Chosun Ilbo in the 1920s. In the existing research history of Korean language, the Korean language movement and study of Korean language in the 1920s and 30s have also been dealt with in depth. However, it would be meaningful to investigate all the prominent daily newspapers of the time and grasp the overall trend. This study attempted to identify the situation and specific phenomena of the time, which were neglected in the existing research history of Korean language that focused mainly on books and papers, through newspaper articles. This analysis is also significant in that 1920s are essential to understanding the enactment of notation in the subsequent 1930s and the background or context of the violent debate surrounding it.
